1. Banff Gondola, Banff National Park finding your mountaintop view above Banff
Say “I do” with 360 degree mountain views at the summit of the Banff Gondola. Larger, more traditional weddings have been happening here for the past few years. Now available for the first time ever during summer for small intimate weddings & elopements. Pledge your love as your nearest and dearest watch, with the Canadian Rockies as your witness. Then, head inside for a remarkable meal at the world famous Sky Bistro Restaurant.
Getting Here:
- The nearest Airport is YYC (Calgary International Airport), a 1.5-hour drive away (149 kms).
2. Lake Minnewanka Private Boat Cruise a Lakeside Getaway in Banff
Take a private boat tour on the Lake Minnewanka Cruise through the lake to share your vows for you and 10 of your closest family members! This is one of the most unique offerings I have seen so far!
Lake Minnewanka is easily my favourite spots to take couples for their Banff National Park Elopements. I am so stoked to see the love-boat cruise option happening. Just imagine saying your vows and hearing them echo across the water and disappearing into the mountains as whispered promises. This is an epic way to spend your elopement day with your family.
Two Jack Lake, Cascade Pond and Bankhead are waiting minutes away for more portraits after your vows on the cruise boat. Head back to Banff afterwards to enjoy a reception-type meal at one of the many restaurants like The Bison in town!

3. Maligne Lake, Jasper National Park tranquility at an isolated Glacial Lake in Jasper
Centred in the middle of the Queen Elizabeth Ranges, Maligne Lake is known for it’s icy blue coloured waters. It is an excellent place to see wildlife, camp, hike or even take a boat trip! Rent a canoe at the lake for a backcountry camping experience like no other, or just enjoy a delicious meal at the Maligne Lake Chalet View Restaurant. An option includes visiting Spirit Island, a sacred place to traditional Indigenous peoples. You can either canoe the 14 kms there, or take a guided boat tour!
You’ll also pass Medicine Lake on your way up to Maligne, which is worth a stop to walk down to the shores and explore or skip rocks & take epic photos celebrating your day!

Because of their proximity, these two different options are being combined for simplicity!
This literally my dream location and I will whoop for joy if one of my clients decide to share their vows here! I mention it to EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU! It is SO worth the road trip to the Columbia Icefields, I swear! Imagine spending the day intimately exploring a glacier, and then sharing your vows 900 feet in the air. Dreamy. Nestled just 20-minutes away from Jasper Townsite, this is a favourite for locals, tourists and weddings alike. While not a new venue per-say, no list of Jasper National Park Elopement venues is complete without mentioned Pyramid Lake! Easily accessible by a wooden boardwalk form the lakeshore, the Island has everything you need to have a wedding. Included is an amphitheater with wooden beaches, a gazebo and various picnic spots around the little island.
Over at the Pyramid Lake Lodge there is access to canoe rentals, which allow you to explore the lake in a whole new way! There is nothing more Canadian than canoeing through the crystal blue waters of our glacier lakes. Pyramid Lake Island is a popular spot for weddings, picnics and day trips with families!
