Glacier National Park Wedding
I met Stephanie at a bridal show in early 2017, our booths right next to each other – she owns the beautiful Everthine Bridal Boutique in Calgary. When she asked me to meet for coffee after, I had no idea it was because she was looking for a photographer for her Glacier National Park wedding! Stephanie and Dylan’s love story has been a decade in the making. They met the summer Dylan went to college in the United States, and as we all know – starting a relationship with distance isn’t ideal. For them, Stephanie says, it was the perfect way to develop a deep level of trust, understanding and ultimately an amazing bond.
“We truly value each others opinion and while we don’t always agree on everything there is a mutual respect and friendship that has gotten us to this place, married 12 years later!”
The Wedding Day
When I asked about their day and why they chose to plan a Glacier National Park wedding, they had this to say:
Whitefish holds a special place in our heart; it is where we met for holidays during the years apart. Because we opted for a destination wedding, we had 4 days filled with love and laughter with friends and family! The ceremony was extra special for us because amongst the craziness of unpredictable winds (almost knocking over our arch), to cold temperatures, lost vows and a veil that didn’t make it down the aisle – it was incredibly “us”. Surrounded by friends and family we got to love, laugh and cry together. Something that can never be replaced and is so uniquely our own.
What advice would you offer to other couples planning a wedding?
Don’t sweat the small stuff, surround yourself by people you love and do what makes you happy. If you can celebrate over a few days. Some of our favourite memories aren’t from the wedding day itself but the days before and after. This is when we truly got to be together, with the people we love and to celebrate!
